About the role#
The Load Forecasting Intern works within the Planning and Market Operations Division. You will support the electric power market operations team by assisting with data analysis, forecasting, and portfolio optimization. This role requires regular, punctual attendance and the flexibility to work outside of standard office hours when necessary to ensure reliable electric service.
What you'll do#
- Build analytics-ready data sets.
- Help develop strategies for portfolio optimization.
- Review forecasts and strategies through analytical methods.
- Assess the accuracy and utility of various forecasts.
- Create reports using business intelligence tools.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in a degree program related to Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, Data Analytics, or Meteorological Sciences.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Capability to handle technical writing and documentation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Preferred candidates may have experience with SAS, R, Python, or SQL, as well as knowledge of statistical forecasting, data science methodologies, and business intelligence tools like PowerBI or Tableau.
