About the role#
As an Information Technology Intern, you will work on projects that support the APS mission to deliver reliable energy. You will work alongside experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience in IT while supporting initiatives that improve operations, strengthen security, and enhance digital solutions. This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with IT professionals and cross-functional teams on projects in areas like application development, data management, and infrastructure.
- Perform simple to intermediate analysis and designs.
- Assist in preparing business and engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and evaluations.
- Conduct research, technical reviews, and investigations, then summarize your findings in reports or presentations.
- Coordinate efforts with other departments to achieve project goals.
- Explore the energy industry through site tours and learning experiences.
- Use internal resources to learn about company operations and functions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Demonstrated academic achievement in your coursework.
- Strong learning agility and communication skills.
- A willingness to take on new challenges in a collaborative environment.
- Interest in technology and one or more IT disciplines.
- Involvement in campus IT clubs or related student organizations is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Phoenix, Arizona.
- Modality: Hybrid. Employees are expected to work about 40% of their time in-person at an APS location and must reside in Arizona.
