About the role#
This is a 10-week summer internship program based at the Palo Verde Generating Station. You will work on individual and group projects while receiving guidance from a dedicated manager and mentor. The program includes professional development activities, company tours, and opportunities to network with leadership. Interns present their project results to senior management at the end of the term.
What you'll do#
- Perform simple to intermediate engineering analysis and design tasks.
- Assist with research, technical reviews, and business documentation.
- Use internal resources to learn about engineering operations and business functions.
- Coordinate with other departments to reach project goals.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an ABET accredited undergraduate program for Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Environmental Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 3.2.
- Ability to apply basic engineering principles and problem-solving techniques.
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, safety practices, and engineering methods.
- Must be a U.S. person to meet export control requirements for the Palo Verde Generating Station.

- Location: Tonopah, Arizona.
- Term: Summer 2026 (May through July).
- Modality: Full-time, on-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
