About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within the specialty insurance industry. You will work alongside experienced professionals to develop your skills and explore career paths in underwriting. The program runs from June 2, 2027, to August 6, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support the healthcare underwriting team with general liability, professional liability, umbrella, and excess coverages.
- Assist with underwriting tasks, analysis, and risk assessment.
- Help with policy reviews and renewals.
- Contribute to reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
- Work on projects related to various liability coverage areas.
What you'll need#
- Current Junior or Senior status in a degree program such as Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Insurance & Risk Management.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Ability to understand financial statements.
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Comfort with public speaking and presentations.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate as a team player.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid position at $24 per hour.
- The role is hybrid, requiring three days onsite and two days from home.
- Locations include Chicago, Illinois, and Alpharetta, Georgia.
