About the role#
This 8-week summer internship offers students practical experience in the insurance industry. You will work alongside professionals in the specialty insurance field to develop your skills and explore career paths. The program includes learning activities, hands-on training, and feedback sessions.
What you'll do#
- Attend education sessions to learn about property and specialty underwriting, analysis, and networking.
- Train with underwriters and the assistant underwriting team to understand daily operations.
- Learn to use underwriting systems and handle account setup.
- Assist the team with research and tasks to build your knowledge of property and specialty insurance.
- Work with other interns on group activities, including a final capstone project.
- Set goals, prioritize tasks, and remain accountable to your team.
What you'll need#
- Current sophomore status with an expected graduation date between December 2028 and May 2029.
- Active pursuit of a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Insurance, or Risk Management.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Location & details#
- Location: Morristown, New Jersey.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote).
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 2 to July 23).
- Compensation: $26 per hour.
- This is a full-time, paid position. No relocation or housing assistance is provided.
