About the role#
We are hiring Student Food Service Workers to join our team at Dalhousie. This is a paid, full-time position with a rolling term. You will work on-site in Halifax, Nova Scotia, assisting with food preparation and customer service operations across campus.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items by following standardized recipes.
- Store food products according to established safety standards.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize workstations including prep tables and service counters.
- Serve food to customers and anticipate their needs to ensure satisfaction.
- Replenish food items and maintain stock levels.
- Adhere to company safety policies, including food safety and hygiene protocols.
- Maintain a positive demeanor while working with guests and colleagues.
What you'll need#
- Valid WHMIS and Food Safe certification.
- Ability to work effectively both supervised and unsupervised.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for providing customer service.
- Ability to collaborate well as part of a team.
- Previous food service experience and First Aid Certification are considered assets.
- Ability to handle physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to wear uniforms or Personal Protective Equipment as required.
