About the role#
Crescent Hotels & Resorts is offering a 10-week Culinary Internship at The Josie Hotel. This program provides hands-on experience in a professional kitchen environment. You will work with experienced staff to learn the daily operations of a luxury hotel kitchen.
What you'll do#
- Complete the structured 10-week internship program.
- Prepare food according to established recipe cards and portion standards.
- Manage food preparation, including starting items ahead of time and setting up the line.
- Maintain kitchen organization by dating containers, rotating stock, and managing storage areas.
- Monitor inventory levels, note shortages, and keep the buffet stocked.
- Help control food waste and assist in addressing food cost issues.
- Operate and clean kitchen equipment such as fryers, broilers, stoves, steamers, mixers, and grills.
- Follow attendance policies and perform additional duties as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at an accredited educational institution pursuing a degree in Hospitality, Culinary, or a related field.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Prior work experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- A self-starting personality and a professional demeanor.
- Physical dexterity to operate food machinery.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests.
