About the role#
As a Guest Services Intern at The Josie Hotel, you will support daily operations and supervise the Guest Services team. This role balances front-of-house responsibilities with the leadership of outdoor guest programs. You will act as a primary point of contact for guests, ensuring their needs are met while helping to manage team performance and scheduling.
What you'll do#
- Lead the Guest Services team and assign daily tasks.
- Assist with training team members and monitoring their performance.
- Oversee guest check-ins, check-outs, and luggage handling.
- Resolve guest issues and respond to requests for transportation, valet services, and equipment rentals.
- Organize and lead outdoor activities, including guided hikes and snowshoeing.
- Promote outdoor programs and share information about local activities and hotel facilities.
- Ensure safety guidelines are followed during outdoor excursions and respond to emergency situations.
- Maintain shift logs and ensure smooth handovers between team members.
- Monitor hotel occupancy to make necessary staffing adjustments.
- Support on-site guest programs and manage outdoor gear lending stations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at an accredited educational institution.
- Pursuit of a degree in Hospitality or a related field.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are preferred.
- Prior work experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is preferred.
