    About the role#

    Applied Materials is looking for a Chemist intern to join the PPB team at the CTO office. This role is a full-time, on-site co-op position based in Santa Clara, California. You will work directly with materials and chemicals to support our engineering teams.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with inorganic, organic, and polymer material screening, metrology, and characterization work.
    • Handle various chemicals safely.
    • Lead small development projects focused on chemical screening, characterization, and quality control.
    • Conduct testing and analysis of materials and chemicals.
    • Maintain detailed lab records.
    • Provide support to process engineers for their material and chemical needs.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, material science, polymer science, or a related field.
    • A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
    • Experience in materials characterization or analytical chemistry.
    • Ability to be physically present in Santa Clara, California for a 6-month term.
