About the role#
Ankura is hiring a University Intern for the Risk Advisory and Forensics practice. This summer program offers students an opportunity to experience life as a consultant by functioning like a full-time Associate. You will work closely with team members ranging from Associates to Senior Managing Directors to support investigations, litigation, and dispute resolution matters.
What you'll do#
- Perform accounting-related analyses and convey results to internal project leads.
- Conduct detailed analysis of transactional data, financial statements, and company books and records.
- Trace the flow of funds and calculate damages in complex disputes.
- Review revenue recognition procedures.
- Assist with the design and implementation of investigations and project workplans.
- Develop analyses to assess complex fact patterns and prepare reports summarizing your findings.
- Document and maintain detailed workpaper records, including sources and methodologies.
- Ensure high-quality work is delivered within established budgets and timeframes.
- Participate in client engagement activities, pitches, proposals, and networking events.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Interest in pursuing a CPA license.
- Strong quantitative, qualitative, mathematical, and research skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of U.S. GAAP and GAAS, plus familiarity with SEC rules and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Capacity to adapt to multiple tasks and evolving project requirements.
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. is required as this position is not eligible for sponsorship.
