About the role#
The Columbia Threadneedle Investments internship provides first-hand experience in investment management. You will support portfolio management and research, contributing directly to the investment process. You will work alongside experienced portfolio managers and analysts who provide mentorship and shadowing opportunities throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Support the management of an equity portfolio focused on small- and mid-cap companies.
- Participate in 2-3 week rotational projects to gain exposure to different parts of the investment process.
- Develop investment theses and stock pitches using both qualitative and quantitative research.
- Assist in preparing investment reports, updating financial models, and conducting company and industry analysis.
- Present a final stock pitch to the firm at the end of the summer.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree with a graduation date of December 2027 or May/June 2028.
- Academic focus in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to multi-task, problem solve independently, and think creatively.
- High degree of self-motivation with strong integrity and ethics.
- Attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work.
- Ability to work and communicate collaboratively with others.
- A positive attitude and dedication to being part of a successful team.

- Location: New York, New York.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (in-office at least four days per week).
- Employment Type: Full time, paid internship.
- Compensation: $32.75 per hour.
