About the role#
Join RiverSource as a Data Analytics & AI Intern to gain hands-on experience applying data and technology to solve business challenges. You will work alongside professionals in analytics, operations, insurance, and project teams. Your goal is to transform data into insights that help leadership make informed decisions.
What you'll do#
- Review business and operational data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Create or improve dashboards, reports, scorecards, and visuals to make information accessible.
- Learn how data supports insurance, operations, and decision-making.
- Explore ways AI or automation can simplify recurring work or improve business processes.
- Organize findings and translate data into recommendations for different audiences.
- Collaborate with business partners and present your project learnings at the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate status with an expected graduation date of December 2027 or May/June 2028.
- Interest in data analytics, business analytics, AI, data science, operations, finance, or insurance.
- Comfort working with information, asking questions, and solving problems.
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Prior coursework or exposure to statistics, reporting, visualization tools, databases, or AI-enabled tools.
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn unfamiliar business concepts.
- Valid work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- Modality: Hybrid, with at least four days per week in the office.
- Employment: Full-time internship.
- Compensation: $27.50 per hour.
- Process: Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
