About the role#
We are hiring a Research Assistant to support our team with phone interviews and data collection. This role is for students interested in gaining hands-on experience with research methodologies. You will help document abortion care from a sociological perspective.
What you'll do#
- Conduct phone interviews with participants according to our research protocol.
- Record data accurately in databases or spreadsheets.
- Manage the scheduling of interviews and follow-up calls.
- Protect participant confidentiality and privacy at all times.
- Participate in team meetings and provide regular status updates.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or recent graduate of an undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in Sociology or Public Health.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and comfort making phone calls.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Familiarity with basic research methods and data collection techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Location & details#
- Location: On-site at the American University main campus in Washington, DC.
- Hours: Part-time, 10 hours per week.
- Compensation: $18.40 per hour.
- Eligibility: This position is available only to currently enrolled American University students.
