About the role#
The Washington College of Law is hiring a student Audio Visual Technician to support classroom operations, conferences, and special events. This part-time position involves 20 to 25 hours of work per week. You will assist faculty, students, and staff with technical needs and maintain the equipment used across campus.
What you'll do#
- Set up and operate audiovisual equipment for classes and events.
- Provide direct support to faculty and staff by answering phones and responding to emails.
- Create and manage support tickets for technical issues.
- Record classes, conferences, and special events.
- Troubleshoot hardware and replace defective components.
- Assist with video production projects, including instructional videos and interviews.
What you'll need#
- You must be an currently enrolled student at American University.
- Ability to work evening hours is required.
- Availability to cover events outside of standard business hours when necessary.
- Majors in Media Studies, Communications, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering are preferred.
