About the role#
This internship provides hands-on exposure to the competition, operations, and administration of PGA of America Championships. You will work directly with the Championship Department to support event logistics, volunteer programs, and on-site course preparations. This is a full-time, paid position that requires significant travel and on-site work.
What you'll do#
- Support course preparations, including installing signage, ropes, stakes, and course marking.
- Manage computer scoring operations using Golf Genius.
- Coordinate the shipping and receiving of event materials.
- Assist with the set-up and breakdown of temporary Championship offices and volunteer headquarters.
- Pack and unpack semi-trailers for tournament equipment.
- Provide administrative and communication support for amateur and professional championships.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment as a rising junior or above in a degree program, or recent college graduation.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Communications, or Operations Management.
- A background in golf or a strong interest in the sport.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace, and basic AI tools.
- Ability to travel for extended periods, including overnight stays of seven nights or more.
- Ability to work long hours, including weekends, and lift moderately heavy equipment.
Location & details#
- This role is on-site at various event locations including Florida, Pinehurst, North Carolina, and Texas.
- The internship runs for 4.5 months across Winter, Spring, and Summer 2027.
- The position is paid at $15.00 per hour.
- Transportation, hotel lodging, meals while on duty, uniform pieces, and luggage are provided for work travel.
- Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
