About the role#
The School of Public Affairs at American University is hiring a student Administrative Assistant. You will work under the direction of the Undergraduate Programs Coordinator to support data tracking, communications, and event planning for undergraduate initiatives. This part-time position is open to currently enrolled undergraduate students.
What you'll do#
- Assist with enrollment and retention tracking by compiling, organizing, and summarizing data for reports.
- Conduct research on academic programs, including BA+BS to JD pathways.
- Create and maintain tracking spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel.
- Draft email correspondence and develop content for social media, brochures, and flyers.
- Help organize recruitment, advising, and student engagement events, including managing logistics and room setups.
- Capture photos and videos for marketing materials.
- Maintain program records and prepare undergraduate resource guides.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student at AU-SPA.
- Good academic standing and a strong GPA.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with research methodologies and data analysis.

- Location: Main Campus, Washington, DC.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: Part-time, 5 hours per week.
- Term: Rolling.
- Compensation: $18.40 per hour.
