About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within the Development Team for the American Heart Association in Las Vegas. You will support major fundraising campaigns including Go Red for Women, Heart Challenge, and Heart of Las Vegas. The role involves contributing to the planning, execution, and follow-up phases of these initiatives while gaining practical skills in a non-profit environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist with fundraising logistics, administrative support, and campaign implementation.
- Manage pre-campaign planning, day-of event execution, and post-campaign wrap-up projects.
- Conduct outreach to donors, volunteers, and third-party vendors via phone and email.
- Maintain data entry and generate reports within event support systems.
- Create and update marketing collateral such as invitations, save-the-dates, social media posts, and volunteer rosters.
- Prepare for and attend virtual or in-person meetings related to volunteer management.
- Perform prospect research to identify new leads for fundraising efforts.
What you'll need#
- Current senior or graduate student status in business, marketing, nonprofit management, event planning, or public relations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Canva.
- Experience or interest in sales, promotion, or fundraising.
- Background in event planning for non-profit or for-profit organizations.
- Experience with data entry and management.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with community leaders, volunteers, and staff.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable conducting outreach to vendors and donors.
Location & details#
- Location: Las Vegas, Nevada.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 25, 2027, to May 7, 2027).
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Commitment: Minimum 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 8:30am and 5:00pm.
- Requirements: Reliable WiFi connection and reliable transportation.
- Compensation: Paid internship at $23.00 per hour.
