About the role#
We are looking for a Textile Design Intern to join our design studio in Costa Mesa. This role offers hands-on experience in the fashion industry, allowing you to contribute to the creation of seasonal collections. You will work directly with our design team to support the process from initial concept to final product.
What you'll do#
- Research print and art trends to inform design decisions.
- Create original prints, plaids, embroideries, and graphics.
- Prepare artwork for production, including scaling and color callouts.
- Use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create production-ready files.
- Manage textile repeats, scales, and recolors.
- Assist with seasonal color palette development.
- Produce tech packs, including sketches and construction details.
- Participate in fittings to evaluate fit and make adjustments.
- Maintain organized records of sketches, prints, and samples.
- Engage in design critiques and incorporate feedback.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or a recent degree from a Fashion or Apparel Design program.
- A strong interest in women's fashion and current trends.
- Proficiency in digital or hand sketching.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- A basic understanding of fibers and fabrics.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
- A keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
