About the role#
This is a full-time, 10-week internship program based in Valparaiso, Indiana. You will gain hands-on experience in warehouse operations and work closely with leadership to understand the business. Successful completion of the program may lead to full-time opportunities after graduation. This role is paid at $28.00 per hour with overtime eligibility.
What you'll do#
- Learn warehouse operations and collaborate with staff to understand company policies and procedures.
- Assist leadership with training, administrative tasks, and interview orientations.
- Support the Inventory Control Team and participate in Waste Walks and Seven Step Problem Solving.
- Work with your team to build subject matter knowledge and attend meetings.
- Take initiative to improve warehouse associate performance and the overall working environment.
- Prepare a formal report and presentation on a specific area of warehouse operations for ALDI executives.
- Maintain professionalism by meeting objectives on time and following company guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare clear documentation.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work under strict deadlines.
- Capacity to build rapport, trust, and positive relationships with internal and external parties.
- Initiative, a strong work ethic, and the ability to follow instructions with attention to detail.
- Ability to work cooperatively within a group and act as a representative for others.
- Physical ability to stand continuously and frequently sit, bend, reach, grip, push, pull, lift, and walk.
- Ability to lift and place product weighing up to 45 pounds.
- Comfort working in varying temperatures, including hot, cold, and refrigerated environments.
