About the role#
AKRF is hiring a Civil Engineer Intern for our 2027 summer internship program. Based in our New York City office, you will help design commercial, residential, mixed-use, industrial, and large-scale infrastructure projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation and modification of engineering documents, including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design plans.
- Assess site characteristics like hydrology, topographical data, and geologic data using record documents, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs.
- Perform site and civil design work, including site planning, layout, grading, drainage, utility design, stormwater management, and soil erosion and sediment control.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited STEM bachelor or graduate degree program.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- Initiative to take on new projects and challenges.
- Dependability and a willingness to take ownership of your work.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship located on-site in New York, New York.
- The pay range is $21 to $29 per hour, depending on experience.
- This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
