About the role#
SCS Engineers is hiring a summer 2027 intern for our Houston office. This role provides hands-on experience in technical engineering and business operations. You will work 40 hours per week alongside experienced professionals on projects involving civil engineering principles like site development, soil mechanics, and fluid mechanics. Focus areas include solid waste facilities, landfill liners, gas collection systems, drainage design, geotechnical analyses, and sustainability projects.
What you'll do#
- Prepare reports and calculations.
- Perform CAD drafting.
- Observe and document construction activities.
- Collect environmental and construction materials samples.
- Manage and review laboratory data.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in civil or environmental engineering.
- Expected graduation date by June 2029.
- Willingness to live in the Houston area for the summer of 2027.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability to travel overnight for work outside of an office setting.
- AutoCAD experience is preferred.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- Pay: $21.00 to $24.00 per hour.
