About the role#
SCS Engineers is hiring a summer 2027 intern for our office in Bedford, Texas. You will gain hands-on experience in engineering consulting by working with professionals on projects related to solid waste facilities, such as landfills, transfer stations, and renewable natural gas plants. This role involves a mix of office-based design work and field assignments. You will work 40 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Assist project teams with reporting and calculation preparation.
- Perform design and drafting tasks using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Manage and review laboratory data.
- Provide construction observation and documentation.
- Collect environmental and construction material samples.
- Work on projects involving site development, drainage, soil mechanics, and fluid mechanics.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program for civil, environmental, geology, or biology/biosystems engineering.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Residency in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for the full duration of the internship.
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability to travel overnight for field work as needed.
- Experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D is preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
