About the role#
AKRF is looking for an Accounting Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 program. This role is based in our New York City office and offers an hourly rate of $26.
What you'll do#
- Record financial transactions into the accounting system.
- Verify, process, and reconcile both vendor invoices and client payments.
- Help maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
- Perform data entry, filing, and other administrative accounting tasks.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation.
- Work with team members to resolve accounting discrepancies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science degree program in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Familiarity with basic accounting concepts, financial statements, and accounting software.
- Proficiency in performing account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
- Ability to manage large volumes of data while keeping accurate records.
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards when handling sensitive financial information.
- Ability to adapt to new regulations, procedures, and software systems.
- Willingness to learn new collection strategies and tools.
