About the role#
Join AIG as a Summer Intern in the Aviation Underwriting department. This 9-week program offers hands-on experience within a global insurance company. You will work alongside experienced underwriters, claims professionals, and risk specialists to deliver coverage solutions for clients including aircraft operators, airports, manufacturers, and airlines. Following the program, interns may be considered for a full-time Analyst role beginning in July 2028.
What you'll do#
- Support the evaluation and underwriting of aviation risks.
- Review underwriting submissions, exposure information, and loss history to assist in pricing and coverage decisions.
- Partner with internal teams to develop tailored insurance solutions.
- Build professional relationships with brokers and clients.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging risks in the aviation sector.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree to be received no later than June 2028.
- Preferred majors include Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Risk Management, or Aviation Management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and manage multiple priorities.
Location & details#
- Location: Los Angeles, California.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 7 through August 6).
- Modality: On-site, requiring at least four days per week in the office.
- Status: Paid, full-time internship.
