About the role#
The Federal Work Study MUS Technician supports the daily operations of music classrooms, labs, and rehearsal spaces. This role assists faculty and students by managing equipment and ensuring lab policies are followed. It is designed to complement your educational goals while providing experience in customer service and departmental administration.
What you'll do#
- Manage the check-in and check-out process for department labs, studios, and equipment.
- Provide hands-on assistance to students using rehearsal spaces and technical gear.
- Monitor lab usage to ensure compliance with department policies.
- Perform routine maintenance on spaces and equipment.
- Support the department with general administrative tasks.
What you'll need#
- Basic Apple computer skills.
- Familiarity with backline equipment, including PA systems, guitars, amplifiers, and drums.
- Knowledge of common music production hardware, software, and practices.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Location & details#
- Location: San Francisco, California.
- Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week, scheduled around your classes.
- Employment Term: Rolling, from your starting term through graduation.
- Compensation: $19.61 per hour.
