About the role#
The Campus Host serves as the primary greeter for academic buildings. You will welcome students, staff, and visitors while maintaining a professional environment. This role supports the campus community by ensuring safe facility access and assisting with daily administrative tasks. You will gain experience in customer service and office operations while working on-site.
What you'll do#
- Oversee building access by checking AAU badges or identification for everyone entering.
- Manage the front desk by greeting guests, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining visitor and vendor logbooks.
- Direct visitors to the correct departments and provide information using campus pamphlets.
- Assist students with questions regarding Academy procedures, building locations, and bus schedules.
- Perform administrative duties including data entry, answering phones, and faxing.
- Maintain the lobby area, perform inventory control, and report necessary building repairs to the Communications Center.
- Coordinate with dispatchers and provide support for special events.
- Wear the provided Academy attire and follow emergency standard operating procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an Academy of Art University student.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to greet guests and provide clear directions.
- Ability to follow instructions and support the school's daily needs.
Location & details#
- Location: San Francisco, California.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time, up to 20 hours per week, scheduled around your classes.
