About the role#
As an Application Engineering Intern, you will gain practical experience by supporting ABB operations and projects. You will work alongside team members to identify client solutions, participate in project meetings, and develop your technical skills. This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the development and testing of automation software.
- Support the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of automation systems.
- Create technical sales demonstrations and develop user manuals.
- Participate in team brainstorming sessions and project meetings.
- Manage department equipment and assist with product inventories.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Seek feedback from managers to improve your performance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering in the United States.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
- Ability to organize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

- Locations: Alpharetta, Georgia or Chicago, Illinois.
- Work Modality: On-site or hybrid.
- Residency requirement: Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the office location.
- Note: No relocation assistance or stipend is provided.
