About the role#
This Human Resources College Co-op position is based at the Detroit Business Office. You will support the HR team with operational and strategic tasks in a manufacturing environment. The role offers exposure to talent acquisition, employee relations, HR analytics, and onboarding. You will work on projects related to workforce planning, retention, and employee development.
What you'll do#
- Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy in HR systems.
- Assist with personnel transactions, organizational changes, and reporting.
- Prepare HR reports, metrics, and workforce analytics.
- Support policy administration, compliance documentation, and internal audits.
- Help coordinate employee engagement, recognition, and wellness programs.
- Assist with employee communications and HR presentations.
- Support recruiting tasks including job postings, screening, interview scheduling, and applicant tracking.
- Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, and pre-employment processes like background checks.
- Participate in recruiting events, career fairs, and community outreach.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum sophomore class standing.
- Ability to work at least 25 hours per week on a year-round basis.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous experience through internships, co-ops, customer service, leadership roles, or campus involvement.
