About the role#
The Sustaining Mechanical Engineer Intern works with the Acute Care Technology R&D Sustaining Team. You will assist with design modifications, builds, and product testing. This is an on-site role based in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.
What you'll do#
- Modify existing designs using SolidWorks.
- Compare existing geometry to confirm the form, fit, and function of revisions.
- Create new SolidWorks assemblies, models, and drawing packages from concept sketches.
- Design and develop test fixtures.
- Run product testing plans, collect data, and analyze results to verify new designs.
What you'll need#
- At least two years of study in a Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering program.
- Excellent academic standing.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- A Certified SolidWorks Associate credential is preferred.
- Experience with 3D printers or rapid prototyping is a plus.
- Experience with test equipment and data collection is a plus.
