About the role#
This Manufacturing Engineering Intern position supports the manufacturing engineering department. You will assist engineers with sustaining production and new product introductions. This role provides hands-on experience with medical device manufacturing and requires a 12-month commitment.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the development, documentation, prototyping, testing, validation, and implementation of manufacturing processes.
- Create and release production documentation, including Assembly Procedures, Lot History Records, Manufacturing Specifications, Work Instructions, and Parts Lists.
- Perform various test functions on devices and equipment, providing analysis and interpretation of the resulting data.
- Support IQ, OQ, and PQ activities when introducing or changing manufacturing equipment.
- Develop a working knowledge of product development processes and technical product fundamentals.
- Comply with all company policies and standards.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Engineering at an accredited university, with a graduation date no sooner than June 2026.
- Competence in CAD software, with a preference for SolidWorks.
- Familiarity with microscopes and measurement equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- High level of accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
- Advanced English language skills.
- Experience with 3D printing and statistical software like Minitab or JMP is a plus.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site in San Jose, California.
- You must be able to work on-site for the full 12-month duration.
- The schedule is full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer and part-time (15-20 hours per week) during the school year.
- This is a paid internship.
