About the role#
Ziegler Caterpillar offers a hands-on internship program for students pursuing careers in diesel and heavy equipment mechanics. You will work in a shop environment to gain practical experience while learning from senior technicians. This role is a full-time, paid position based in Rochester, Minnesota.
What you'll do#
- Assist senior technicians with the troubleshooting and repair of heavy diesel engines, construction, and agriculture equipment.
- Develop real-world mechanical skills through mentorship.
- Learn to respond to customer needs in a positive and supportive manner.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year degree program in diesel engine mechanics, agricultural equipment mechanics, or a related field.
- A positive attitude and a desire to work as a team player.
- Ability to maintain good grades and provide positive recommendations from instructors.
- Your own set of mechanic tools.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, kneeling, and climbing.

- Starting wage: $21.00 per hour.
