About the role#
Ziegler Caterpillar offers a hands-on internship program for students pursuing careers in diesel and heavy equipment mechanics. You will work in a shop environment to gain practical experience with agriculture, construction, and mining machinery. This is a paid, full-time, on-site role based in Bloomington, Minnesota.
What you'll do#
- Assist senior technicians with troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel engines and equipment.
- Develop mechanical skills through direct mentorship.
- Respond to customer needs in a positive and timely manner.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year degree program for diesel engine, construction, or agricultural equipment mechanics.
- Good academic standing and positive recommendations from instructors.
- Your own set of mechanic tools.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physical tasks like climbing, kneeling, and reaching.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test, as this is a safety-sensitive position.
Location & details#
- Location: Bloomington, Minnesota.
- Starting wage: $21.00 per hour.
