About the role#
Ziegler Caterpillar offers an internship program for students pursuing careers in diesel and heavy equipment mechanics. You will gain hands-on experience by working in a shop environment alongside senior technicians. This role focuses on developing practical mechanical skills while supporting the maintenance of construction and agriculture equipment.
What you'll do#
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel engines.

- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year degree program in diesel engine mechanics or a related field.
- A record of good grades.
- Positive recommendations from your instructors.
- Your own set of mechanic tools.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 60 lbs and frequent movement such as bending, kneeling, and climbing.
- Ability to pass a drug test, as this is a safety-sensitive position.
