About the role#
Ziegler Caterpillar offers an internship program for students pursuing careers in diesel and heavy equipment mechanics. You will gain hands-on experience by working alongside senior technicians in a shop environment. This role focuses on developing practical mechanical skills within the agriculture, construction, and mining industries.
What you'll do#
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel engines and equipment.
- Work directly with senior technicians to build your mechanical expertise.
- Respond to customer needs in a positive and timely manner.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year degree program for diesel engine mechanics or a related field.
- A record of good grades and positive recommendations from your instructors.
- Your own set of mechanic tools.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 60 lbs and performing tasks like climbing, kneeling, and reaching.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.

- Location: Madison, Minnesota.
- Schedule: Full-time, rolling term.
- Compensation: $21.00 per hour.
- Work modality: On-site.
