About the role#
Youth Villages offers a paid internship program for students pursuing a Master's degree in social services. This position provides hands-on experience in mental and behavioral health, with placements determined based on academic requirements and individual experience. The schedule is flexible and non-traditional to accommodate the needs of the youth and families served.
What you'll do#
- Shadow counselors during home- and community-based family sessions.
- Carry a reduced caseload and implement clinical interventions.
- Facilitate individual, group, or family therapy sessions using evidence-based practices.
- Attend weekly meetings for individual, team, and clinical consultation to support professional development.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation within an electronic medical record system (EMR).
- Provide transportation to various locations as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master’s degree program in a social services discipline, such as social work, psychology, criminal justice, guidance counseling, marriage and family therapy, or drug and alcohol education.
- A current, valid driver’s license.
- A personal automobile for work purposes and proof of auto insurance.
