About the role#
Youth Villages offers a paid internship for students pursuing a Master's degree in social services. This position provides hands-on experience in community-based mental health work. You will work with a team to support children and families while fulfilling your academic practicum requirements. The schedule is flexible to accommodate the needs of the families served.
What you'll do#
- Shadow counselors during home and community-based family sessions.
- Manage a reduced caseload and implement clinical interventions.
- Facilitate individual, group, or family therapy sessions.
- Document interactions in an electronic medical record system.
- Attend weekly meetings focused on professional development and clinical consultation.
- Provide transportation to various locations as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master's degree program in a social services discipline, such as Psychology or Criminal Justice.
- A valid driver's license.
- Access to a personal automobile for work purposes.
- Proof of valid auto insurance.
