About the role#
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Truck Driver Student. You will participate in a training program to obtain your CDL-A while gaining practical experience as an LTL Driver. This position is home daily.
What you'll do#
- Attend training sessions to earn your CDL-A.
- Perform vehicle inspections under section 396.13 of the FMCSR while under supervision.
- Maintain records in accordance with FMCSR, DOT, and company policies.
- Load and unload freight using a forklift as needed.
- Operate a tractor-trailer combination under supervision.
- Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
- Lift freight weighing 50 lbs frequently, and occasionally over 75 lbs.
- Move and position a converter dolly with an average pull force of 128 lbs.
- Work in various weather conditions and maintain contact with service center personnel.
What you'll need#
- You are at least 21 years of age.
- You have 1 year of related experience.
- You hold a valid state-issued driver's license for at least 12 months.
- You can attain a CDL-A permit by the first day of class.
- You will obtain double/triple trailers, tanker, and HAZMAT endorsements within 90 days.
- You can pass a DOT drug test and a company-paid DOT physical.
- You have a safe driving record.
- You can read and speak English to converse with the public and understand traffic signs.
- You are available to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
Location & details#
- Location: Edinburgh, Indiana.
- Schedule: Full-time, on-site.
- Pay: Starts at $22.85 per hour.
