About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2026. You will train to become a commercial driver while gaining hands-on experience in the transportation industry. This role is open to students pursuing degrees in Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management.
What you'll do#
- Attend training sessions to earn your CDL-A.
- Gain on-the-job experience as an LTL Driver.
- Perform vehicle inspections as required by Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations.
- Load and unload freight using a forklift.
- Complete required documentation and reports.
- Maintain contact with service center personnel.
What you'll need#
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Hold a valid state-issued driver's license for at least 12 months.
- Attain a CDL-A permit by the first day of class.
- Pass a DOT drug test and have no prior positive tests or refusals in the last 3 years.
- Be available to work various shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 75 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to read and speak English to communicate with the public and complete reports.
