About the role#
The Buildings Team is seeking a full-time Structural Engineering Co-Op for the Fall 2027 term. This position provides hands-on experience working alongside senior staff on real projects, allowing students to enhance their professional aptitude and technical skills.
What you'll do#
- Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
- Learn basic principles of structural engineering.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
- Support the preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
- Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an accredited undergraduate, master's, or PhD program in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Architecture at Wentworth Institute of Technology.
- Anticipated graduation date of December 2026 or later.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Demonstrated interest in structural engineering and a strong desire to advance skills.
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, and other technical tools.
- Authorization to work in the United States.

- Location: North Providence, Rhode Island.
- Term: Fall 2027.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $23.90 to $31.11 per hour.
