About the role#
WSP is seeking a full-time Electrical Engineering Co-op for the Fall 2026/Winter 2027 term. This position is based in the Philadelphia, PA office and is designed for students enrolled in the Drexel University Co-op Program. You will work alongside senior staff on projects across the infrastructure, commercial, higher education, science and technology, and healthcare sectors.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
- Learn principles of Electrical Engineering, including power distribution, lighting design, and low-voltage systems.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop engineering drawings and specifications.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
- Become familiar with building plans, electrical diagrams, engineering standards, and codes.
- Travel to job sites to survey and review existing buildings and construction progress.
- Learn to use Autodesk Revit to model electrical, lighting, and low-voltage components.
- Assist in maintaining project documentation and complete assigned training.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an accredited Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related undergraduate program at Drexel University.
- Anticipated graduation date of March 2027 or later.
- Strong interest in the electrical engineering field and a desire to advance professional skills.
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
- Basic proficiency in technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- Ability to follow direction from leadership and mentors.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to company health, safety, and conduct policies.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
