As a Construction Materials Field Technician Student in the London office, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the quality and safety of infrastructure projects. You will work alongside experienced technicians and engineers to build a technical foundation through field and laboratory work.
What you'll do#
- Perform field Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) tests on soils, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates under supervision.
- Conduct soil and asphalt compaction testing to confirm compliance with project specifications.
- Assist with subgrade and footing inspections to support field teams and project engineers.
- Collect and document material samples to contribute to accurate project reporting.
- Maintain and calibrate field and laboratory equipment to ensure reliable testing results.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Geotechnical, or related engineering degree program.
- Eagerness to learn and comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to take on hands-on technical tasks.
- Ability to work independently when needed while thriving with team guidance and mentorship.
- A valid driver’s licence (or in the process of obtaining one).
- Availability for occasional travel, overtime, or weekend work when required.
