Construction Management Intern - Chief Operations Group

About the role#

This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2026 within the Chief Operations Group at Sargent & Lundy. This role is a field assignment based on a construction site, primarily focused on power generation projects. You will work under the direction of construction managers to gain practical experience in project execution, safety, and quality standards.

What you'll do#

• Assist the Construction Management team with day-to-day project execution on-site.
• Support the oversight of client construction projects to ensure efficient progress.
• Coordinate project documentation, including RFI tracking, procedure tracking, and regular reporting.
• Monitor project schedules and track the progress of contractors.
• Collaborate with construction professionals on-site to evaluate project activities and manage correspondence.

What you'll need#

• Bachelor of Science degree path in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Expected graduation date in Fall 2026, Spring 2027, or Fall 2027.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA is strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction, identify issues, and meet deadlines.
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Note: Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
