About the role#
The Financial Reporting Intern works with the Professional Services team to support regulatory reporting for public companies. You will assist managers and directors while gaining experience in financial document preparation and XBRL tagging. This is a paid, full-time internship opportunity available for the Winter and Summer 2027 terms.
What you'll do#
- Create and implement regulatory reporting files in various taxonomies for public companies.
- Apply XBRL tagging to financial statements and footnotes.
- Perform tie-outs of XBRL tagging to confirm accuracy before filing deadlines.
- Support Professional Services Managers and Directors with daily tasks.
- Test software features for Quality Assurance and research new regulatory mandates.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Accounting degree program.
- A GPA of 3.2 or higher is preferred.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software.
- Strong attention to detail and a track record of follow-through.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Reliable internet access for remote work.
Location & details#
- This role is primarily remote. Candidates living near a Workiva office hub may choose to work in a hybrid capacity.
- Spring 2027 term starts January 4, 2027, with a maximum of 15 to 20 hours per week.
- Summer 2027 term starts May 17, 2027, with a maximum of 40 hours per week.
- This position does not offer sponsorship.
