About the role#
As a Student Financial Aid Consultant, you will implement Workday's Student solution. You will focus on financial aid administration, including packaging, compliance, and disbursement. You will also support Student Financials processes such as billing and payments as project needs require. This role involves working directly with higher education and nonprofit customers to design, configure, and test solutions that meet their specific business goals.
What you'll do#
- Gather client business requirements and translate them into system configurations.
- Develop prototype systems to demonstrate configurations.
- Assist clients through the testing phase of the implementation.
- Collaborate with the integration consulting team to configure and test connections with third-party systems, such as federal aid portals and payment processors.
- Convert legacy financial aid and student financials data into the Workday system.
- Partner with the Engagement Manager to track project activities, timelines, and budgets.
- Participate in ongoing training and events to share product expertise across the practice.
What you'll need#
- 6+ years of experience with Financial Aid or Student Information Systems like Workday, Banner, PeopleSoft, or PowerFAIDS.
- 6+ years of functional experience in financial aid, including leadership roles overseeing operations, compliance, and staff management.
- 6+ years of technical aptitude with systems, software, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- 2+ years of experience using AI-powered tools.
- Deep knowledge of Title IV federal regulations, R2T4, SAP, and financial aid packaging methodologies.
- Working knowledge of Student Financials processes, including tuition billing, payment plans, and refunds.
- Proven relationship management skills and the ability to manage multiple customers in parallel.
- Ability to travel up to 50% for client milestones, such as design sessions and testing events.
