About the role#
As a Cybersecurity Engineer Intern, you will join a team of security professionals to protect Workday technologies. You will gain hands-on experience by applying your technical knowledge to real-world security challenges. This role involves embedding security into how we build and operate, from our applications to our underlying infrastructure. You will participate in the Workday Intern Program and the P&T Atmosphere program, which provide tailored training and networking opportunities to support your career growth.
What you'll do#
- Help deliver security into Workday technologies and support it as a core component of our operations.
- Assess and review the security of technical architecture and enterprise applications.
- Develop and deploy tools, scripts, or automation to improve platform security.
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to understand security concerns and support remediation efforts.
- Use ticketing systems like Jira to track work, document findings, and support team workflows.
- Explore security-relevant uses of AI or Agentic AI concepts.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Less than 12 months of previous professional work experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity domain concepts, principles, tools, and technologies.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language: Python, Java, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
- Understanding of foundational security concepts such as identity and access management, vulnerability management, threat detection, secure architecture, network security, or application security.
- Familiarity with cloud provider services like AWS, Azure, or GCP and tools such as Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, or Terraform.
- Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and support an inclusive team environment.
- Curiosity and an eagerness to learn.
