About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to work with consultants on manufacturing projects. You will help clients improve their productivity, quality, and profitability. You will gain experience in process improvement, Lean methodologies, and data analytics while working directly with project teams and clients.
What you'll do#
- Analyze manufacturing and supply chain processes to find bottlenecks and waste.
- Create current-state and future-state process maps and support value stream mapping.
- Gather and organize operational and financial data to identify trends.
- Review key metrics including throughput, inventory, quality, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
- Participate in client interviews, workshops, and Kaizen events.
- Develop recommendations to improve operational performance.
- Build dashboards, reports, and presentations for client deliverables.
- Support implementation planning and change management efforts.
- Collaborate with consultants, project managers, and subject matter experts.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is a paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- The role follows a hybrid work arrangement, which includes time in the office, at home, and at client sites.
