About the role#
As a Safety Analysis Engineering Intern, you will perform design basis safety analysis for nuclear reactors, with a focus on Loss of Coolant Accidents. You will report to the LOCA Integrated Services Manager and work from our Cranberry Township facility.
What you'll do#
- Develop and assess models and correlations to predict two-phase flow and heat transfer phenomena.
- Apply statistical techniques to perform realistic nuclear reactor safety analysis.
- Develop analysis methodologies for design basis accidents.
- Maintain cognizance of plant specific licensing basis, Analysis of Record, and 50.46 reporting.
- Serve as a contact for plant-specific and LOCA-specific inquiries from internal and external customers.
- Evaluate how plant modifications and operating changes impact design analysis.
- Update project managers on the status and nature of your work.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for chemical, mechanical, or nuclear engineering.
- Completion of your sophomore year of college.
