About the role#
As a Nuclear Safety Engineer Intern, you will perform safety analysis and engineering design for nuclear power plants and related products. You will report to the Experimental and Accident Modeling Manager. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position for the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Perform general safety analysis for nuclear power plants.
- Conduct engineering design and analysis for plant products, including fuel manufacturing, spent-fuel management, instrumentation, and maintenance services.
- Coordinate with customers, vendors, and internal departments to gather technical information.
- Plan and manage your schedule to meet project requirements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for nuclear engineering.
- Completion of your sophomore year of college.

- Location: Burr Ridge, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May through August).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $25.40 to $29.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
