About the role#
The Financial Risk Management Internship at Western Alliance Bank is a 10-week summer program running from June through August. This is a full-time, paid position based in Phoenix, Arizona. You will work alongside experienced risk professionals to evaluate emerging risks and support key strategic decisions for the bank.
What you'll do#
- Work on projects related to your specific area of study.
- Receive guidance and support from a dedicated mentor.
- Participate in business projects, leadership development training, and team-building activities.
- Assist with interest rate risk management, capital planning, and liquidity stress testing.
- Gain experience in investment portfolio oversight and mortgage market analytics.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Business Administration.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, and organizational skills.
- The ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision.
- An interest in the Commercial Business Banking industry.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis. We do not offer employment-based immigration sponsorship for this program.
