About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to support the daily production of CNN World Sport programming. The role is based in Atlanta and follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular in-office attendance as determined by the intern manager. The program runs for 10 weeks, from October 12th to December 18th, 2026, with a commitment of 16 to 24 hours per week. This is a paid position.
What you'll do#
- Support the daily production of CNN World Sport programming on both weekdays and weekends.
- Participate in daily editorial and production meetings.
- Assist in building and maintaining show rundowns, including copy editing, creating still images, and performing basic video editing.
- Contribute to the production of vertical video content for a variety of sports.
- Research interview topics and support guest bookings for live or pre-taped segments.
- Pitch original story ideas and contribute articles for CNN Digital.
- Join production teams in the field for interviews conducted by producers or anchors.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university as a rising Junior or Senior.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above.
- A strong interest in storytelling and a passion for sports.
- Active participation in social media as a news tool.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and reliable work ethic.
- Ability to work in the United States without company-provided visa sponsorship.
- Relevant academic backgrounds include Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Business Administration, Psychology, or Sociology.
