About the role#
This internship offers students the opportunity to support the daily production of CNN World Sport programming. The role is based in Atlanta and operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring regular in-office attendance as determined by the intern manager. This is a paid, 10-week program running from October 12, 2026, to December 18, 2026, with an expected commitment of 16 to 24 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Support the daily production of CNN World Sport programming for both weekday and weekend shows.
- Participate in daily editorial and production meetings.
- Assist with show rundowns, including copy editing, creating still images, and basic video editing.
- Produce vertical video content for a variety of sports in both office and field settings.
- Research interview topics and assist with guest bookings for live and pre-taped segments.
- Pitch original story ideas and contribute articles for CNN Digital.
- Join production teams in the field for interviews conducted by producers or anchors.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university as a rising Junior or Senior.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- A strong interest in storytelling and a passion for sports.
- Knowledge of and active participation in social media as a news tool.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and reliable work habits.
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Relevant academic backgrounds include Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Business Administration, Psychology, and Sociology.
